LOGIC
One of the important defining characteristic of human beings is rationality, which is our capacity to think consistently and to draw conclusions from the available information. This capacity is called reasoning. Logic deals with reasoning. It mainly deals with the Methods and Principles used to distinguish correct from incorrect reasoning. (Rules of Reasoning) The study of Logic will sharpen students' intelligence. It will enrich their power of reasoning and develop the ability of critical thinking which will help them in achieving their goals successfully. The study of Logic will provide an added impetus to students who want to pursue law as well as for those desirous of appearing for competitive exams like UPSC, MPSC, CLAT, NDA, etc.
PHILOSOPHY
Philosophy makes us wonder about the world, life and ourselves. Philosophy arises from an inquisitiveness of the mind. It studies human life, along with the fundamental principles of right and wrong, good and bad, assumptions of moral ideals, etc. It deals with questions like, ‘What is the meaning of life?’ ‘Does God exist?’ ‘What is Truth and what are its criteria?’ Dealing with such puzzling questions of Philosophy increase one’s understanding of these and related issues. Students of Philosophy will acquire skills such as - general problem solving, communication skills, power of persuasion, ability to conceptualize, ability to anticipate problems and problem solving. It will develop their ability to critically analyze the facts and think logically. The study of Philosophy will enhance students' ability to organize ideas and asses pros and cons. It has the potential to change students' attitude and approach to life, which will help shape and guide their lives.
